5:1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.
God is seen holding a scroll which has seven seals binding it.
The scroll contains a record of the judgments that must fall on the earth before the Lord Jesus can set up His kingdom.
